Liquid Facelift

When the signs of aging start to kick in for most people, their reflection on the mirror does not reflect how they feel inside. A liquid facelift utilizes the use of dermal fillers to achieve a similar effect as that of the more invasive facelift. A liquid facelift differs from a surgical facelift in that it does not involve the cutting of the skin or the use of the scalpel. Although the goal of the liquid facelift is to reduce the appearance of sagging and wrinkles resulting in a tighter and more rejuvenated appearance, it can also:

The Ideal Candidate

It is typically for someone with a minimal amount of sagging and relatively few wrinkles. If you suffer from a lot of sagging skin or if you are looking for dramatic results, a surgical facelift might be the best option for you.

A liquid facelift is however not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have an allergy to lidocaine.

Targeted areas for a Liquid Facelift

Although a liquid facelift generally targets the face, dermal fillers can also be used to reverse the signs of aging on your hands. The main areas that your Plastic Surgeon might target during the procedure are:

During the procedure, a local anesthetic may be used to numb the injection area. The dermal fillers are then injected into the face and it might sting a little. The session takes about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area being injected. The great thing about this procedure is that all the treatment areas can be done in a single session.

Recovery and Results

You might experience temporary redness and bruising following a liquid facelift. The results are immediate but last between 4 to 12 months depending on the type of dermal filler used. You are required to rest for a period of 24 hours following a liquid facelift procedure and avoid touching or massaging the treatment areas unless you’ve been instructed to. You can resume full activity after about a week following a liquid facelift.
